Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid: Surprised the golf world in May when he won the Senior PGA Championship at Bellerive CC near St. Louis. The win came in his first visit to the United States. Started Sunday's final round five strokes behind 54-hole leader Kenny Perry, but posted a bogey-free, 6-under-par 65 Sunday to overtake Perry and win by two strokes. Became the first player to win the event in his first try since Michael Allen did so four years earlier.
