Live Activities for iOS
Nov. 5, 2023 - Live activities are now available on the PGA TOUR app. This feature will allow users to add key information to follow a tournament directly on their iOS lock screen. Live Activities will update dynamically to ensure users have the most up-to-date information without having to open the app. There are two options for users to add to their mobile lock screen.
- Leaderboard – Allows users to quickly follow a tournament in progress by displaying the top three leaderboard rows. Users can tap the Live Activity to launch the PGA TOUR app and view the full leaderboard.
- Player Scorecard – Allows users to follow a specific player during their round. Users will be able to see that player’s current position on the leaderboard and their total score as well as get shot-by-shot updates as they play.
Live activities will only show on a user's device while a tournament is in progress.
Aug. 9, 2023 - A brand new feature to the PGA TOUR leaderboard now allows fans to track the probability for each player in the field to win, finish in the top 10 and make the cut. This exciting enhancement has been made possible by the endless supply of data from ShotLink powered by CDW and the computing power of Amazon Web Services (AWS). The PGA TOUR’s Data Science and Technology Solutions team crafted an algorithm that calculates the probability percentages. Simulated player performance accounts for a player’s hole-level statistics, weighted by most recent events played and current event’s course history.
The Probability leaderboard is available during most tournaments as an additional leaderboard view on PGATOUR.com and a landscape leaderboard view on the PGA TOUR app.
This feature allows fans to gain a deeper understanding of a player’s likelihood to win, finish in the top 10 and make the cut during a tournament. Watch as a player’s percentage increases or decreases with the updates in real time as a player progresses through the tournament.
