Bryson DeChambeau’s solid chip shot on No. 12 at THE NORTHERN TRUST
Bryson DeChambeau moved to the top spot in the FedExCup Playoffs with a four-shot victory at THE NORTHERN TRUST on Sunday. The win came the same week DeChambeau put Cobra's King F8+ Nardo driver in play after working on it for the past five months.
Cobra TOUR rep Ben Schomin worked with DeChambeau early in the week to get the driver dialed-in with a new TPT Golf 14 MKP LT shaft. Hoping to eliminate the right miss, DeChambeau also moved the lie angle up a couple degrees and found a head/shaft combination that fit his preferred launch and shot shape.
"We were working on it starting on Monday afternoon, messing around with a few different shafts and fine-tuned it [on Wednesday]," Schomin said. "Literally, we got it exactly where Bryson wanted it just a few hours after his Pro-Am round."
DeChambeau ranked 10th in Strokes Gained: Off-the-tee with the new driver (plus-2.993) while hitting 67 percent of the fairways at Ridgewood Country Club.
