Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr Pepper: Carded 7-under 65s in the second and third rounds to share the 36- and 54-hole leads, but shot a 2-under 70 in the final round, slipping to T4 with a 22-under 266 at the Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr Pepper.

Shriners Hospitals for Children Open: Playing as a sponsor invite at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, played Nos. 13-16 eagle-birdie-birdie-birdie en route to a final-round 7-under 64 and T10 finish. Was making just his second-ever PGA TOUR start (T47/2015 Puerto Rico Open).

Club Colombia Championship by Servientrega: In his fourth Korn Ferry Tour start of the year, earned a T3 at the Club Colombia Championship by Servientrega with rounds of 67-68-71-66–272 (12-under) - one shot back of the Ethan Tracy/Roberto Diaz playoff.
2016 Season
Finished third on the Order of Merit to earn 2017 Korn Ferry Tour membership. Pocketed ¥597,575. Enjoyed five top-10s to go with his one victory.

Putian Open: Contended all week at the Putian Open. But an 11 on the fourth hole in the third round and a triple bogey-8 on No. 13 in the final round ended any chances he had at victory. Still was able to record his third consecutive top-10 and his sixth overall.

Clearwater Bay Open: Started quickly at the Clearwater Bay Open in Hong Kong, shooting a 6-under 64 in the first round to take the lead. After a second-round 69, was tied for third going into the weekend. Seemingly took control of the tournament in the third round with a 7-under 63 that gave him a four-shot bulge with 18 holes to play. On the final day, could only muster a 1-under 69–a double bogey-bogey, two-hole stretch on Nos. 12 and 13–his undoing. Fell into a playoff with Australian Daniel Nisbet and then lost the extra session on the first hole, the par-5 18th, when Nisbet made an eagle putt from 10 feet after Kang missed the green on his second-shot approach.

Pingan Bank Open: Was five shots off the lead entering the final round of the Ping An Bank Open in Beijing following rounds of 69-68-67. Made his first Series hole-in-one in the second round, acing the par-3 sixth hole at Topwin G&CC. In the final round, made eight consecutive pars to open his day, falling from contention. Added two birdies and two bogeys the rest of the way to finish 10th.

Ping An Private Bank Wanda Open: Had a stellar final round at the Ping An Private Bank Wanda Open, shooting a bogey-free, 7-under 65 that included five birdies and an eagle to move into a T5 with David McKenzie, Seungyun Lee and Sejun Yoon.

Cadillac Championship: Entered the Cadillac Championship in early June playing well and continued that trend, setting numerous records on his way to victory in Chengdu. After opening with a 3-under 69 at Chengdu Poly GC, tied a Series record with an 11-under 61. Trailed 36-hole leader Justin Shin by four shots but took control of the tournament after a Saturday 62 to take a four-shot lead into the final day. His 24-under 192 shattered the previous record held by Gunn Charoenkul at the 2014 Yulongwan Yunnan Open. Fired a final-round, 5-under 67 to get to 29-under (a new 72-hole record) to defeat Shin by six shots. Made a record-tying 29 birdies during the week along with two eagles to end the streak of victories by players from China at six. Moved to second on the Order of Merit.

United Investment Real Estate Open: Played bogey-free golf in the final round of the United Investment Real Estate Wuhan Open to finish third, six shots behind winner Zecheng Dou. The third-place finish was his first top-10 in nine previous starts, dating to 2015. Following an opening 77 in rainy, windy conditions at Yishan GC, he followed with rounds of 68-71-68 that allowed him to move into the sixth position on the Order of Merit through two tournaments.

China QT #1-OCT Kunming Wind Valley: Recaptured a fully exempt PGA TOUR China Series' exemption by finishing T12 at the First Global Qualifying Tournament in Kunming. Began the final round outside the top 15–tied for 24th–but a 5-under 67, the low round of the day, moved him into fully exempt position.
2015 Season
He had a solid first season playing in China, finishing 55th on the Order of Merit, approximately ¥15,000 from keeping his exempt status. His best finishes among his seven made cuts in 2015 were a pair of top-20s.

Puerto Rico Open: Made his PGA TOUR debut when he earned a playing spot in the Puerto Rico Open. Opened with a 76 but made the cut with a 2-under 70 in the second round. Finished T47 after firing a final-round 68 at Trump International GC.

2014 Season
Saw considerable action on PGA TOUR Canada. Played on the Asian Tour, with one Asian Development Tour start to his credit. Played in the Asian Tour's Macau Open and was 64th.

Web.com Tour Q-School: At the Korn Ferry Tour's second-stage Qualifying Tournament, didn't get through to the finals after finishing 40th.

The Syncrude Boreal Open Presented by AECON: Best finish on that circuit was a T25 at the Syncrude Boreal Open, with an opening 68 and a closing 69 giving him the top-25 showing.

Bayview Place Island Savings Open presented by Times Colonist: Added a T31 in his next start, at the Bayview Place Island Savings Open. A pair of 69s in the first and final rounds helped the cause.

Solaire Open: Top Asian Tour finish was a T42 at the Solaire Open in mid-March.

PGM Port Dickson Championship: On the ADT, secured his only top-10 of the campaign, a T9, shooting rounds of 67-70-71-67 at the PGM Port Dickson Championship.

Played eight Mackenzie Tour - PGA TOUR Canada events, making five cuts.

Wildfire Invitational: Finished T14 at the Wildfire Invitational, on the strength of a 67-68 weekend.
Amateur Highlights
- Played collegiate golf at San Diego State University in California between 2008 and 2012. Was an All-Mountain West Conference selection in 2011, the same year he earned Ping All-West Region honors.
- Won the 2010 Alister MacKenzie Invitational, shooting a school-record, 16-under 197.
- Edged teammate Todd Baek and the University of California's Ben An by a shot at The Meadow Club in Fairfax, Calif.
- First college tournament title came in co-champion style at the Turtle Bay Invitational in Hawaii. Tied with teammate Andrew Cooley at the event in Kahuku.
