Was a college teammate of PGA TOUR China Series' alum Todd Baek. 

Played collegiate golf at San Diego State University in California between 2008 and 2012. Was an All-Mountain West Conference selection in 2011, the same year he earned Ping All-West Region honors.

Won the 2010 Alister MacKenzie Invitational, shooting a school-record, 16-under 197.

Edged teammate Todd Baek and the University of California's Ben An by a shot at The Meadow Club in Fairfax, Calif.

First college tournament title came in co-champion style at the Turtle Bay Invitational in Hawaii. Tied with teammate Andrew Cooley at the event in Kahuku.
