The 108th PGA Championship is set for this week at Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, where the weather could play a factor in the winning score.

The course experienced lightshowers Wednesday evening into Thursday morning, with a reduced chance of rain remaining for the following competition days.

Here's the current weather outlook for the week.

Tuesday: Sunny skies hit Aronimink on Tuesday morning, though temperatures began in the lower 40s. Sunshine remained prevalent throughout the day, helping temperatures climb well into the 60s by the afternoon. Winds stayed below 15 mph.

Wednesday: Similar temperatures were seen on Wednesday, with highs again reaching the 60s and winds kicking up from midday to afternoon. Zero rain reached the course until late in the evening.

Thursday: Overnight rainfall reached just 0.26 inches. The threat for showers will persist through 9 am, but any additional rainfall will be light in nature. Beyond that, a brief period of clearing is expected around midday with clouds filling back in during the afternoon. A very brief shower or sprinkles could occur, but dry conditions are favored. Northwesterly winds will freshen by late morning with gusts around 25 mph on Thursday afternoon.

Friday: Drier conditions are expected to return for the second round and beyond at Aronimink. Rain chances currently sit at 10%, while temperatures dip slightly, with lows in the upper 40s and highs in the upper 60s. Winds should remain steady between 8-14 mph, with gusts up to 24 mph.

Saturday: Sunshine is expected to return for the weekend, accompanied by just a slight 5% chance of rain. Temperatures could climb as high as 79 degrees during the third round, helping dry out the course. Winds are forecast between 8-14 mph, with gusts up to 22 mph.

Sunday: The final round currently carries a slightly higher rain chance at 20%. However, highs are expected to climb into the mid 80s, potentially setting the stage for a fiery finish to the year’s second major. Winds should ease slightly, ranging from 8-12 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.
