Brooks Koepka Round 4 highlights from THE CJ CUP

Brooks Koepka moved to No. 1 in the Official World Golf Ranking with a four-shot win at THE CJ CUP @ NINE BRIDGES. The reigning PGA TOUR Player of the Year shot a final-round 8-under 64 that was highlighted by chip-in on the 16th for a 29 on the back nine.

"Didn't have the greatest of lies and then hit that left and the chip was probably 25 yards," Koepka said of the chip. "It was a great lie, it couldn't have been sitting any better, everything was going with me and the ball was sitting up pretty high. I knew I put some spin on it, but where I had to land it was left-to-right slope and then it was downslope and it just kept feeding away.

"All I was trying to do was make sure it got on that bottom tier. If it got on that bottom tier, it was probably going to be no more than eight feet away. My caddie even said right before I hit the shot, you know, 'This is the one you need to hole,' or 'You're going to make this.' He never really says that, but this time he was right, which was nice."

The chip-in all but sealed the win for Koepka, who currently uses two different versions of Titleist's Vokey Design wedges. Koepka switched to three Vokey SM7 wedges at the beginning of the 2017-18 season — after using SM5 to win the 2017 U.S. Open — but rotated between a 60-degree SM7 lob wedge and an older model SM4 TVD at different times during the year.

Koepka had three SM7 wedges in the bag for his two major wins last season but opted for the SM4 TVD M-Grind lob wedge in Korea. The "TVD" on Koepka's wedge stands for "Tour Van Design," a name Bob Vokey places on his two most popular grinds — the M-Grind and K-Grind.
