Tiger Woods wins by two at TOUR Championship

Tiger Woods notched his 80th career PGA TOUR victory with a two-shot win over Billy Horschel at the TOUR Championship. For Woods, the victory was keyed by two clubs in particular — a 9.5-degree TaylorMade M3 460 driver and Scotty Cameron Newport 2 GSS putter.

Woods made some changes to the club, along with the 3- and 5-wood, ahead of THE NORTHERN TRUST, returning to the Mitsubishi Chemical Diamana D+ White Board shaft he'd used up until the 2013-14 TOUR season.

"It's a feeling that I know and I used to use it for a number of years," Woods said of the Diamana shaft. "I know the graphics have changed a little bit but it's basically the same shaft. Went back to something that I knew and had success with, and it's turned out pretty good."

Going back to a familiar shaft profile in all of his TaylorMade woods helped Woods tighten up his game off the tee. During the week at East Lake Golf Club, Woods ranked 3rd in driving accuracy (64 percent) and 6th in Strokes Gained: Putting.

Just like the Diamana D+ White Board shaft, Woods went back to something familiar with the putter as well after using three different models over the first three events of the FedExCup Playoffs.

Before returning to his trusty Scotty Cameron Newport 2 GSS putter at the BMW Championship, Woods gave a TaylorMade TP Black Copper Ardmore 3 mallet and Juno blade test runs during the latter stages of the season.

Woods and his Newport 2 didn't skip a beat during the TOUR Championship, where he finished 2nd in Strokes Gained: Putting with the Anser-style blade that's played a role in 13 of Woods' 14 major championship titles.

"I know the release point and I know how it swings and my body morphed into a position where it understands where it needs to be to release the putter," Woods said.

"I've hit hundreds of millions of putts. I've had it since '99. I've hit putts with it. I just — my body just remembers it. When I go away from it — and, you know, when I was using the Nike putter I always bring it out and hit putts with it. Sometimes it works but it just feels very familiar to me."

Here's a look at Woods' entire equipment setup.
