Bubba Watson lands third win at Travelers
Bubba Watson won the Travelers Championship for his third PGA TOUR win of the season on Sunday. The victory came with the same bag setup he used to take home the World Golf Championships-Dell Technologies Match Play title in March.
Watson recently added PING's Glide Forged wedges to the bag at the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide but opted to go back to Glide 2.0. He used his 60-degree lob wedge — which actually has 62.8 degrees of actual loft — from 77 yards on the 18th hole to set up a closing birdie from 2 feet, 6 inches.
Rarely one to make changes on a whim, Watson has remained loyal to the PING equipment in his bag, using the same S55 irons going back to the 2013 BMW Championship.
The one significant change Watson made this year was the addition of a PLD Anser putter. The 34.25-inch Anser has a lie angle of 21.5 degrees and 4.5 degrees of loft.
The 4.5 degrees of loft is more than double what Watson used last year. Some adjustments to Watson's hand position at impact led him to add loft to balance out the additional shaft lean.
Watson tinkered with loft earlier this year, starting with 3.5 degrees at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am before settling on 4.5 degrees the week of his win at the Genesis Open.
Here's a look at Watson's entire equipment setup.
