Ted Potter epic birdie is the Shot of the Day
Ted Potter Jr. won for the first time since 2012 with a three-shot win over a host of marquee names at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, including current world No. 1 Dustin Johnson, five-time major winner Phil Mickelson and former No. 1 Jason Day.
Paired with Johnson during the final round, Potter played the role of aggressor, rebounding from a bogey on the opening hole with four birdies in a six-hole stretch. The birdie run was capped by a chip-in from just behind the green on the par-3 7th with his Cleveland RTX-3 lob wedge.
From there, Potter protected his slender lead with precision play off the tee and from the fairway with a setup of PING G400 woods and iBlade irons. Potter was also red-hot with a center-shafted Odyssey White Hot #2 putter that made a number of key par conversions on Sunday and helped produce a tournament-best 62 on the Shore Course at Monterey Peninsula Country Club during the third round.
