As the Presidents Cup kicks off at Liberty National in Jersey City, N.J., it marks the first time in the history of the competition that one apparel brand is outfitting both teams. LACOSTE, the official apparel sponsor of the event, will showcase its elegant, yet sporty designs on the 24 U.S. and International Team players, captains and vice-captains, caddies, PGA TOUR staff, and Presidents Cup staff and committee members.

Known for its iconic polos and alligator logo, LACOSTE created seven unique looks for each team (4 competition days, and 3 practice round days), as well as tailored clothing for the opening and closing ceremonies. Each team’s apparel includes polo shirts, sweaters, outerwear, pants, and blazers. Throughout the design process, LACOSTE worked closely with captains Steve Stricker and Nick Price to create uniforms that met their color, style and fabric specifications, while also channeling the brand’s history of sporting elegance.

In typical Team U.S. fashion, the team’s uniforms pull inspiration from the United States flag with a patriotic red, white and blue color palette. The U.S. squad makes a bold statement by sporting wide rugby stripes on two of the days, including the final round where they look to capture their seventh Presidents Cup victory. Much like their opponents, the International Team’s palette mirrors its President’s Cup flag with splashes of bright gold, blue and green against a neutral backdrop of black and gray. Each piece is embroidered with the iconic gold Presidents Cup trophy and the corresponding team flag.

From a technical standpoint, LACOSTE has placed a priority on comfort and functionality. The range of polos features stretch for playability and moisture wicking capabilities for comfort. October weather in the northeast can be a bit fickle, so LACOSTE has designed a complete collection of layering pieces for both sides. Players can choose from classic cashmere sweaters, sporty insulated vests, or high-tech hybrid jackets.

Fans can get in on the action, too. LACOSTE has created a Presidents Cup collection for men and women that will be available for purchase onsite during the tournament and at LACOSTE boutiques in the United States and on LACOSTE.com. Prices ranging from $50 for a hat to $98 for men’s polos, and all pieces are co-branded with the Presidents Cup logo.
