LACOSTE unveiled the 2017 Presidents Cup uniforms for the U.S. and International Teams at the PGA Merchandise Show on Wednesday, marking the first time in the history of the competition that a single brand is outfitting both sides.

Throughout the design process, LACOSTE worked closely with captains Steve Stricker (U.S.) and Nick Price (International) to create uniforms that met their color, style and fabric specifications, while also channeling the brand’s history of sporting elegance.

LACOSTE will dress both of the teams in seven different ensembles, one for each day of the event, including practice and competition rounds. Each of the collections draws inspiration from the teams’ respective flags. The Americans will be outfitted in a patriotic color palette of red, white and blue, while the kits for the Internationals feature pops of lively gold, blue and green against a neutral backdrop of black and gray.

Two of the days see the U.S. squad in bold rugby-style stripes, including the final round where the Americans hope to win the Presidents Cup for the seventh straight time. Other days see the U.S. in a mix of powerful reds and classic blues and grays.

The International Team’s script calls for sporty color-blocking, classic stripes, and simple solids. All of the pieces in the collections are embroidered with the gold Presidents Cup trophy and corresponding team flag.

From a technical standpoint, LACOSTE has placed a priority on comfort and functionality. Each of the polos feature stretch for playability and moisture wicking capabilities for comfort. Given the unpredictable New York weather in late September, LACOSTE has designed a range of outerwear for the players, which includes insulated puffer vests, hybrid jackets, and cashmere sweaters.

In addition to providing the teams with on-course apparel, LACOSTE is also outfitting the sides in tailored blazers and pants for the opening and closing ceremonies.

Look for authentic versions of the U.S. and International Team uniforms to be available for fan purchase onsite at Liberty National Golf Club during the event, and at LACOSTE boutiques in the U.S. and on lacoste.com beginning in late August.
