His father took him to the 2005 Presidents Cup as a birthday gift, where his golf hero, Mike Weir, handed him a golf ball.
At tournaments, always carries in his pocket two tees and the same 1996 Canadian Toonie–a $2 coin–he’s used since his freshman year in college.
His parents owned a video-rental store when he was growing up, and he says he watched nearly every movie in the store.
Sang in a voices-only group when in high school and sang in concerts and bars around his hometown.
Enjoys playing the ukulele.
Has battled depression and hopes to inspire people to believe that life doesn't always have to be hard.

Brother Kai is a published author, actor and producer who appeared in the movie "Wanderlust." Kai also wrote the novel "How We'd Look on Film."
Through the years, his parents have housed more than 20 foster children at their home.
Had a deal with his father that the first time he beat his dad at golf, he could choose anywhere in the country for a golf trip. Beat his dad when he was 13, and they went to Myrtle Beach, S.C., together.
