Of humble beginnings, he started playing golf at the age of 5 at Club del Cerro Golf, where his father was a caddie.
Had a brief stint as a professional in 2013, but decided he was not ready for it and was reinstated as an amateur.

South American Amateur champion in 2016.
Best of seven career starts on PGA TOUR Latinoamérica was an impressive runner-up finish at the 2015 VISA Open de Argentina. Carded a final round 65 at the Jockey Club in Buenos Aires to finish at 10-under 270, just one stroke behind tournament champion
Played several international competitions representing Uruguay, including four World Amateur Team Championships in 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2016.
The Copa de Oro in Uruguay was one of seven events he won in 2015.
