Earliest golf memory was hitting golf balls in his family's backyard in the mountains and then having an "Easter egg hunt" to find them.

An avid skier and high school basketball star, Hubbard once said, "I think golf is my third favorite sport after basketball and skiing. But I didn't grow to be 6-foot-6, and I kind of missed my peak as a ski racer."

Prepped at Colorado Academy (Class of 2007) in Denver, where he starred on the golf and basketball teams. As a senior, averaged more than 20 points per game as a shooting guard and earned an invitation to the state high school All-Star game in 2007.

Looked at a few different schools where he could play golf and basketball, but chose to play golf at San Jose State University. Still teases his wife, who also attended San Jose State, he could have gone to Davidson College to play golf and basketball, but he chose her over being best friends with Stephen Curry, who starred at Davidson from 2006 through 2009.

Learned about San Jose State University's golf program through two-time PGA TOUR winner Mark Wiebe, a San Jose State alum who was at one time based out of Denver, Colorado. Hubbard played junior golf and high school golf and basketball against Wiebe's son, Gunner.

Says if he were not a professional golfer, would probably just move to Bora Bora, open a tiki bar, and disappear off the grid.

Biggest thrill outside golf is heli-skiing.

Bucket list includes playing Augusta National Golf Club, setting foot on every continent, and skiing in Europe.

Big Denver sports fan, especially of the Denver Broncos (NFL football).

Very good at "all bar/miscellaneous/useless games," including Pop-A-Shot and badminton. Also enjoys video games, especially those from the Madden, Assassin's Creed, and Call of Duty franchises.

Supports the Salvation Army and the First Tee - Colorado Rocky Mountains.

Proposed to his girlfriend (now wife) behind No. 18 green at Pebble Beach Golf Links after the first round of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in 2015.

Amateur Highlights

Played four seasons at San Jose State University (2007-11), where he earned two individual victories (both as a senior), including medalist honors at the 2011 Western Athletic Conference Championship, and was a two-time All-WAC First Team selection.

Won the 2006 Optimist International Junior Golf Championship at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Past champions of the event include David Toms (1984), Notah Begay III (1990), Tiger Woods (1991), Pat Perez (1993), and Jonathan Byrd (1996). Played with a severely sprained ankle (and wore a brace) he sustained at a basketball camp in Wyoming roughly three weeks prior to the event.

In 2007, became the fourth player in history to win the Colorado Golf Association Junior Stroke Play and Junior Match Play Championships in the same year, following Rick Cramer (1977), Mike Troyer (1991), and Tyler Parsloe (2006). Notable past champions of the CGA Junior Match Play Championship include Davis Love Jr. (1953, 1954) and Hale Irwin (1962). Wyndham Clark went on to win the 2009 CGA Junior Stroke Play Championship.
