Grew up in Singapore and started golf there at Green Fairways Driving Range under the tutelage of his father, Bruce. After six years in Singapore, his family moved to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Played his first 18 holes at TPC Kuala Lumpur, which is also where he first broke 90. After four years in Malaysia, his family moved back to Sydney when he was age 13.
Earliest golf memory is caddying for his parents at Singapore Island CC when he was approximately age six.
Has held a job as a greenskeeper.
Although a native of Australia, attended schools in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, while growing up.
Amateur Highlights
Was a member of the winning New South Wales team in both the 2006 and 2007 Australian Interstate Series.
Won the 2006 Australian Amateur at Royal Hobart, defeating Mitchell Brown, 1-up, in the final match.
Was a member of Australia’s winning 2007 Four Nations Cup team.
In a one-year period after his Australian Amateur title, captured the 2007 Singapore Amateur, finished second at The Amateur Championship (losing to American Drew Weaver) and won the 2008 Tasmanian Open.
