Has been a student of Dr. Jim Suttie at Cog Hill G&CC since age 4.
Says "Gladiator" is his all-time favorite movie. Likes a variety of music, including hip-hop. Lists Jay-Z and Li'l Wayne as two of his favorites. Says he would probably be working in a sports management capacity if he weren't playing golf.
Has a younger sister, Nicole, who played golf at Florida. She now works in tournament operations for the PGA TOUR.
Has a Bernese mountain dog named Lacey.
Amateur Highlights
Played college golf at Duke University, where he was a two-time GCAA All-American, a three-time Golfweek All-American and two-time All-ACC.
Won the 2008 Wolfpack Invitational by defeating Webb Simpson on the second hole of a sudden death playoff in April. Also shared medalist honors at the 2008 Gator Invitational in February.
Shot an NCAA tournament record setting 10-under par 60 at the 2007 NCAA Championship at the Golden Horseshoe in Williamsburg, Va. Had a 15-foot putt for a 59 but burned the edge of the cup. He is one of five college golfers to shoot a 60 in an NCAA-sancti
Attended Libertyville High School, where he was a four-year letterwinner. Won 17 tournaments during high school and got to be ranked 10th junior player in the United States.
Named the Illinois Junior Golf Association Junior Player of the Year in 2002.
