Had an impressive start to his Hainan Open in late-November. Began the tournament with a 7-under 65 that easily gave him the first-round lead on a day when only two other players broke 70 and there were only eight under-par rounds overall on the windy course. Midway through his second round, held an eight-shot advantage before coming back to the field. Was 8-under through his first 27 holes and 9-over the rest of the way to T7 with Jack Munro, four shots shy of winner Huilin Zhang. The top-10 was his first of his Ping An Bank China Tour – PGA TOUR China Series' career.

Earned one of the last two fully exempt positions for the PGA TOUR China Series' season when he finished with Shirakura Shohei at the Second Global Qualifying Tournament at CTS Tycoon GC in February in Shenzhen.
