Stricker signs putter deal with Odyssey

As reported earlier this year by PGATOUR.COM, Steve Stricker has been using an Odyssey White Hot 2 putter for 17 seasons, making only brief switches throughout his career. In March of 2019, ahead of the Valspar Championship, Stricker finally replaced the face insert, which was indented from years of use, and he changed out the slightly-bent shaft.

If 17 years of trust in the putter wasn’t enough, Stricker put his loyalty in writing. After winning the 2019 Regions Tradition and the 2019 U.S. Senior Open – both are Champions Tour major championships – Stricker has agreed to officially become an Odyssey staffer.

While full terms of the agreement have not been made public, an Odyssey representative told PGATOUR.COM that it is a putter-only deal, and the agreement only applies to the Champions Tour, not to the PGA TOUR, where Stricker continues to play a limited number of events.

Throughout his career, the 52-year-old Stricker has amassed an impressive resume (most of which was achieved while using the Odyssey White Hot 2 putter); he has 12 PGA TOUR victories, five Champions Tour victories, he’s been a member of three Ryder Cup teams and five Presidents Cup teams, and he is the 2020 U.S. Ryder Cup captain. Stricker has also been consistently considered one of the best putters in golf, and he even has given Tiger Woods putting tips over the years.
