Ping unveils Glide 3.0 wedges, including possible return of the Eye2 wedge

DETROIT, Mich. - Based on photos shot by PGATOUR.COM on Tuesday at the 2019 Rocket Mortgage Classic, Ping is bringing back a modernized version of a classic wedge design: the Eye2.

The last time Ping brought an Eye2 wedge design to retail, it was the Eye2 XG in 2010 that coincided with the USGA’s new groove rule.

Now, it appears an Eye2 grind will be an option in the new line of Glide 3.0 wedges. On the range at the Rocket Mortgage, PGATOUR.COM spotted four different grinds – Eye2, TS, SS and WS – in the line, which is the likely successor to the Glide 2.0 wedges launched in January of 2017.

While Ping is not commenting yet on the new Glide 3.0 wedge designs, a company representative confirmed that the official launch will be in mid-July, with consumer availability in early August.

Wasting no time, Bubba Watson already has three custom Glide 3.0 wedges in his bag, although it is not yet confirmed he will put them in play come competition time on Thursday.

Until there is full information on the line of Glide 3.0 wedges, enjoy the photos below.
