Ping G410 LST drivers spotted at the 2019 Wells Fargo Championship

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Ping’s initial launch of its G410 drivers included only two models: a G410 Plus standard head and a G410 SFT (Straight Flight Technology) head. Most notably absent from the G410 lineup was Ping’s previously popular LST (Low Spin Technology) option, which was available in previous Ping driver lines and has been used by PGA TOUR players and high-spin amateur golfers for years.

Speculation was high that Ping would eventually release a lower-spinning G410 option, and it’s now been officially confirmed. On Monday, Ping G410 LST drivers hit the USGA Conforming Clubs List, and PGATOUR.COM also spotted LST drivers on the range at the 2019 Wells Fargo Championship. Ping reports that multiple PGA TOUR players tested the product on Monday, but since it’s still early in the week, it remains to be seen who will put it in play come competition time on Thursday.

While Ping is staying tight-lipped on specifics about the new G410 LST driver, we do know the driver measures 450cc versus the 455cc constructions of the already-released G410 Plus and G410 SFT drivers. Judging by the photos we took on Monday, it’s also apparent that the LST has moveable weight technology in the rear of the club head to adjust center of gravity (CG), and it has an 8-way adjustable hosel.

In the previous G400 lineup, the lower-spinning construction of the LST versus the standard model was evidenced by the location of sole weighting closer to the face. The G410 LST and the G410 Plus driver, however, appear to have identical weight placement and similar sole design. Of course, we do know the G410 LST has a smaller profile than the G410 Plus driver, but it’s unknown for now what other differences there might be to make the LST lower spinning.

Ping confirmed the G410 LST drivers will be available in golf shops in late May. The USGA Conforming Clubs List has approved 9- and 10.5-degree heads in both left- and right-handed options.
