Product Spotlight: SuperStroke Cross Comfort club grip
1 Min Read
SuperStroke's S-Tech remains the club grip of choice for Jordan Spieth, Sergio Garcia and Jason Dufner, but the grip manufacturer realizes that not every golfer prefers a grip on the firmer side.
In an effort to cater to those who enjoy a slightly softer feel, SuperStroke released a Cross Comfort model which blends a tacky outer layer with a firmer inner rubber.
In the past, grips that shaded toward the softer side of the spectrum offered the pillowy feel many wanted but lacked the responsive normally found in grips made from a firmer rubber compound.
To strike a balance between feel and responsiveness, SuperStroke utilized two different firmnesses in the design.
The Polyurethane outer is similar to what's currently found on SuperStroke's putter grips and enhances the soft feel; the grip's responsiveness can be found in a firmer inner rubber layer that delivers "torsional performance."
In addition to the tacky Polyurethane material, a "Cross Comfort X" pattern was etched into the outer layer for another level of traction.
While soft-feeling club grips are known to wear out faster than firmer models, the Polyurethane and rubber blend used in Cross Comfort allows the grip to wear at a rate of 2 to 2.5 times better than its competitors.
SuperStroke's Cross Comfort is currently available in four different colors (black/red, grey/black, black/blue and grey/pink), sizes (undersized, standard, midsize and oversize) and retails for $5.99-$6.99 per grip.
