Two PGA TOUR University alumni earned Korn Ferry Tour membership Sunday at the Fortinet Cup Championship, with Noah Goodwin finishing 3rd in the final standings and Joe Highsmith finishing 9th. Goodwin earned conditional status by finishing in the top-five of PGA TOUR Canada’s season-long points race, and Highsmith is exempt into Final Stage of Q-School by finishing 6th through 10th.
Goodwin finished No. 12 in the Class of 2022 Velocity Global Ranking, and he was one of two players to win twice on PGA TOUR Canada this summer. In five seasons at SMU, Goodwin was a three-time All-American and won three times, including the 2021 NCAA Stillwater Regional.
Highsmith was No. 10 in last year’s Velocity Global Ranking, and he posted five top-10s in eight starts this summer, tied for most on PGA TOUR Canada. In four seasons at Pepperdine, Highsmith was a two-time All-American and posted a 3-0-0 record at the 2021 NCAA Championship to help the Waves win the national title.
Trent Phillips was the highest tournament finisher among the five alumni who qualified for the season finale; he tied for fifth and finished 13th in the Fortinet Cup. Parker Coody’s rookie season included a win at the CentrePort Canada Rail Park Manitoba Open and he finished 12th in the final standings, while Cameron Sisk posted two top-three finishes this summer and was 15th in the Fortinet Cup.
