Two PGA TOUR University players started their senior seasons with victories during the first week of the fall schedule. Vanderbilt’s William Moll (Ranked 70th) recorded his first collegiate victory at The Frederica Cup, posting a 19-under total and leading the Commodores to the team title over Oklahoma. Patrick Welch (Ranked 9th) paced the Sooners with a T7 finish, while Texas Tech’s Ludvig Aberg (Ranked 2nd) finished third and Mississippi State’s Ford Clegg (Ranked 73rd) was T4.

At the Rod Myers Invitational, Canon Claycomb (Ranked 16th) posted a six-stroke victory and led Alabama to its first team title since Fall 2020. The Crimson Tide swept the podium, with Thomas Ponder (Ranked 48th) finishing runner-up and freshman Nick Dunlap tying for third.

This week, 12 of the top-20 players in the Velocity Global Ranking will compete in the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational (Sept. 16-18). Adrien Dumont De Chassart (Ranked 7th) will lead Illinois at its home event against a 15-team field that features the last four NCAA champions, including Travis Vick (Ranked 5th) and the defending champion Texas Longhorns. Also in the field is Fred Biondi (Ranked 1st) and his Florida Gators, as well as North Carolina, led by Austin Greaser (Ranked 4th) and Dylan Menante (Ranked 8th).

The Ranking Period for the Class of 2023 began Week 23/2021 and concludes May 29, 2023, following the final round of stroke play at the NCAA D-I Men’s National Championship.
