Welcome to the Stats Insider. It’s Brendon Todd’s world and we’re just living in it. Todd, who had one win in his first 176 PGA TOUR starts, has now won two in a row. His comeback from (another) deep slump is the story of the fall. Let’s take a closer look at his incredible stretch:

    1. SUM 44: Todd is 44-under-par in his last two PGA TOUR starts. He was 42 under in his preceding 110 stroke-play starts on TOUR, a span that stretches back to the beginning of the 2013-14 season. Todd had his best FedExCup finish in 2014 (27th).

    2. EIGHT IS ENOUGH: Todd’s recent struggles have received a lot of attention, but it wasn’t the first time he had to emerge from the depths. In 2010, Todd missed the cut in all 13 events he played on the Korn Ferry Tour. He had an eight-round stretch that season where he was a combined 55-over-par and had a 78.1 scoring average (77-81-76-77-83-77-80-74). He took 625 strokes in those eight rounds.

He’s taken just 524 strokes in his last eight rounds, an average of 65.5 strokes.

    3. UNTOUCHABLE: Twenty-seven players made the cut in both events Todd won, the Bermuda Championship and Mayakoba Golf Classic. Only four of those players were within 20 shots of Todd in those two events. Here’s a look at the top five players who made the cut at both events:

    • Brendon Todd, -44
    • Brian Gay, -30
    • Scottie Scheffler, -29
    • Harry Higgs, -27
    • Bo Hoag, -24

    4. ON THE DANCE FLOOR: Todd hit 57 greens in regulation at Mayakoba, finishing third in that statistic. It tied for the fifth-most he's hit in his career, and the most he's hit in an event since 2015.
