PGA TOUR 2019: Proud Pursuit presented by Mastercard
PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla.– The PGA TOUR announced a 30-minute special titled “PGA TOUR 2019: Proud Pursuit presented by Mastercard” focusing on how Arnold Palmer’s legacy remains the primary attraction at the tournament bearing his name. The special will air on NBC on Sunday, March 10 at 12 p.m. ET.
Palmer’s impact continues to be felt on the PGA TOUR in numerous ways, but none more strongly than at the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard at Bay Hill Club & Lodge. The tournament is a signature event on the PGA TOUR, centered around upholding Palmer’s values and honoring his career accomplishments and charitable interests.
Produced by PGA TOUR Entertainment, “PGA TOUR 2019: Proud Pursuit presented by Mastercard” will immerse viewers into every facet of the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard, showcasing the players and initiatives that continue to carry the spirit and passion of Palmer.
Primarily shot and edited as the tournament unfolds, viewers will enjoy a fresh look at both the exciting action inside the ropes, as well as the long-lasting impact beyond the field of play.
The show will include four features that epitomize Palmer’s influence:
Justin Rose
Much like Arnold Palmer, the reigning FedExCup Champion understands the importance of giving back and uses his Kate and Justin Rose Foundation as an outlet to do so in the Orlando area. These efforts will be highlighted as the Rose family welcomes kids from their foundation to Bay Hill Club & Lodge on Thursday to watch Rose, who is also a Mastercard ambassador, during the first round of the tournament.
Adam Long
Earning his first career win at this season’s Desert Classic, an event Arnold Palmer won five times. As he makes his first start at Bay Hill, the Rookie of the Year candidate will gain even greater insight into the many facets of Palmer’s impact on the game through the tournament itself, as well as the event’s various charitable activations. It should be noted that beginning this year, the Rookie of the Year will earn the Arnold Palmer Award.
Rickie Fowler
The five-time PGA TOUR winner has built a powerful brand while carrying himself with a charisma reflecting that of Palmer. We’ll highlight Fowler as he proudly displays Palmer’s legacy through touting the King’s famed umbrella logo on his apparel, as well as with his actions on and off the course.
Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children
Since 1989, Palmer’s most selfless endeavor is the founding of the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, which has helped countless children in the Orlando area and beyond. A main beneficiary of the event, several of the hospital’s initiatives, such as Arnie’s March for Children, will be highlighted in the NBC special.
