Has a strong soccer background. Previously played competitively, and counts both of his grandfathers as former professional players in the English Premier League, for Fulham and Chelsea, respectively.

Won the 2014 North Island Under-19 Championship in his native New Zealand.

In his native New Zealand, finished regulation at the 2016 Danny Lee Springfield Open tied with Kevin Koong. Defeated Koong in a playoff for the title.

At the 2019 Hootie @ Bulls Bay Intercollegiate, won by three strokes, taking down Rory Franssen by three shots.
