His uncle, Jeff Feagles, was an NFL punter for 22 seasons (1988-2009), winning Super Bowl XLII (2007-08) with the New York Giants, who beat the undefeated New England Patriots. He was also a two-time Pro Bowl selection (1995, 2008) and holds NFL records for most punt yards, most punts, and most consecutive games played.

His grandpa, John, played collegiate golf at Notre Dame; he built Michael's first set of clubs and took him to the golf course every Sunday to practice and play.
