Fired an opening, 3-over 75 then was superb the rest of the way, with rounds of 68-71-68 that enter a four-players-for-one-exempt-spot playoff. Watched as Jorge Villar and Matt Echelmeier dropped out early then earned exempt status by defeating Blake Hathcoat on the fourth extra hole.
