Personal

Third-generation professional golfer, as his grandfather, Johnny, made 30 PGA TOUR starts in the 1960s (28 of them came in 1968 and 1969), and his father, Charlie, made two Korn Ferry Tour starts in 1992.

Graduated from Kapaun Mt. Carmel Catholic High School in Wichita, Kansas. Another notable alum of the school is three-time PGA TOUR winner Grier Jones, who most notably won the 1972 Sony Open in Hawaii and later served as head coach of the Wichita State University men's golf program for more than two decades (retired following the 2018-19 season).

Mother, Pam, played collegiate tennis at University of Oklahoma.

Older sister, Abby, played collegiate tennis for a season at Colorado State University (2012-13) before she transferred to Wichita State University (2013-16) and played her last three seasons. Abby was a four-time all-conference selection and won back-to-back No. 1 singles titles at the 2015 and 2016 Missouri Valley Conference Individual Championships. Abby also helped Wichita State win three consecutive MVC Tournament and regular season titles in her time there.

Amateur Highlights

Played collegiately at Oklahoma State University for four seasons (2014-18) and was a member of the Cowboys' 2018 NCAA Championships-winning team (did not see action in stroke play or match play, though). Saw action at the 2016 NCAA Championship as a sophomore.

Won the 2015 Kansas Amateur Championship and finished second in 2013, 2014, and 2017. He became the third generation of his family to win the Kansas Amateur, as his father, Charlie, won in 2010, and his grandfather, Johnny, won in 1960 and 1961.
