When he was 3 years old, he broke his grandmother's window hitting golf balls inside, and everyone was upset with him - except for his father, who was delighted because it meant they could finally go to the golf course together.
Earliest golf memory is hitting balls into the sea from a beach in North Berwick, Scotland.

Amateur Highlights
Played collegiately at Northwestern University for four seasons (2015-19), graduating with the fourth-lowest career scoring average in program history (72.72), only behind former world No. 1 Luke Donald (70.95), 2020-21 Korn Ferry Tour graduate Dylan Wu (71.77), and Eric Chun (72.70).
Captured medalist honors twice (both at the Marquette Intercollegiate) and posted a T2 finish at the 2017 Big Ten Championships, only coming in behind Illinois' Dylan Meyer.
Two-time All-Big Ten Conference First Team honoree (2017, 2018), and the 2019 Byron Nelson Award winner. The Byron Nelson Award is annually presented to a graduating male senior golfer, who is given equal consideration for performance, academics, character, integrity, and citizenship.
Named a 2018 All-America Scholar.
Qualified for the 2018 U.S. Open Championship as an amateur.
Represented Scotland at the 2018 World Amateur Team Championships.
