Amateur Highlights
Was a two-time All-Southeastern Conference first-team selection, in 2019 and 2020.
Became the fifth player from Auburn to win the SEC Championship individual title when he defeated teammate Graysen Huff in 2019 in a four-hole sudden-death playoff in Sea Island, Georgia. The other Tigers are Jimmy Green (1991), Bryant MacKellar (1997), Roland Thatcher (2000) and Patton Kizzire (2007). Earlier in the season, won the Kiawah Classic at Turtle Point in South Carolina, defeating Hunter Dunagan by three shots.
Was a member of the 2018 and 2019 Palmer Cup International teams. Went 2-2-0 in 2018 and didn’t compete in 2019 due to injury (replaced by Sweden’s David Nyfjall).
Won the 2018 British Amateur at Royal Aberdeen, becoming the first South African since Bobby Cole in 1966 to pull off the feat. Defeated Ireland’s Robin Dawson, 3 and 2, in the 36-hole final match. Held a 1-up lead at the halfway point, moved 5-up with six to play before ending the match on the 16th hole with an up-and-down par from the bunker.
