One of his earliest golf memories is, as a 5-year-old, putting with his dad at Yellowstone Country Club in his hometown of Billings, Montana; he also used to play with his dad in the evenings when he got off work almost every day growing up
Favorite sports team is the Seattle Mariners (MLB) and he is notably a Ken Griffey Jr. fan
Amateur Highlights
Played four seasons at University of Oregon (2012-16), garnering a 2015 All-Pac-12 Conference Second Team laurel, as well as 2014 and 2014 Pac-12 All-Academic honors.
Member of Oregon's 2016 NCAA Championships-winning team, but did not compete in stroke play or match play at the event.
Following his sophomore season at Oregon, qualified for the 2014 U.S. Open contested at Pinehurst No. 2 (missed cut)
Defeated Doug Ghim in the first round of match play at the 2014 U.S. Amateur Championship contested at Atlanta Athletic Club; he previously qualified for the 2013 U.S. Amateur at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts
Won consecutive Montana State Amateur Championships in 2013 and 2014
Won Montana High School Association Class AA individual state titles in 2009, 2010, and 2011, in addition to leading Billings West High School to team state titles in 2008, 2009, and 2011
