Was an All-Big 10 Academic first-team selection in each of his final three years at Ohio State.

Played in three PGA TOUR tournaments, qualifying for the 2014 U.S. Open at Pinehurst in North Carolina, as a 17-year-old, ultimately missing the cut. Was one of three amateurs to make the cut at the 2018 U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills. Eventually went on to finish 66th. Made his third and final amateur appearance in a PGA TOUR event at the 2019 Memorial Tournament (missed the cut).
