Attended The Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Fellow graduates of the school include Harris English, Stephan Jaeger and Luke List, as well as Brooke Pancake, who joined the LPGA in 2013.

Graduated from the University of Georgia in 2014 with a degree in Business and Real Estate.

Established the Keith Mitchell Foundation -- based in his hometown of Chattanooga, Tennessee -- in 2020, and is passionate about providing opportunities to people in the area who did not have the same opportunities as he did growing up.

In April 2024, appeared on the cover of the Style issue of Golf Digest, which recognized him as the "Best Dressed on TOUR."

Deep into his coffee routine at home and enjoys taking time to make the perfect cup of coffee.

Loves food and considers himself an amateur cook and a professional eater.

When at home in St. Simons Island, Georgia, typically drives a 1977 Jeep Cherokee Chief he restored with the help of fellow TOUR winner Michael Thompson. Keith bought the Jeep in fall 2018.

Father, Jerry, introduced him to the game of golf, and more importantly, the idea of wearing a visor on the course. Mother, Cynthia, plans girls trips to his tournaments with her best friends, who have all known him his entire life. The members of the group, who call themselves the "Auntorage," travel to tournaments every few months and wear matching hats. Sister, Brindley, attended the University of St. Andrews in Scotland from 2009 to 2013.

Knows Peyton Manning and first met him at age 4. Partnered with Manning and Andy Roddick, among others, on Sweetens Cove, an award-winning nine-hole public golf course outside of his hometown of Chattanooga.

Played four seasons at the University of Georgia (2010-14), where he recorded a 72.53 career scoring average.

Co-runner-up finisher at the 2013 Tennessee State Amateur Championship, which was contested at Chattanooga Golf and Country Club.

Competed at the 2011 and 2012 U.S. Amateur Championships, but did not qualify for match play.
