Met his wife, Luci, while she played on the Symetra Tour in 2017, and he was a Korn Ferry Tour member. They went on dates all around the country whenever their tournaments intersected.

He proposed to his wife, Luci, at Sunset Cliffs–at sunset–during the 2018 Farmers Insurance Open, an event he was playing in.

Missed the birth of his second son, Ezra, because he Monday qualified for the 2021 Corales Puntacana Championship.

Involved with the Korean American Special Education Center, a charity which helps individuals and families with autism; they also helped with his son, who is on the autism spectrum. Also supports the College Golf Fellowship, and a missionary family in Chinese Taipei; they were a couple who did premarital counseling with (and married) them.

Was next-door neighbors with Michael and Andrew Putnam for seven years while growing up very close to what is now Chambers Bay in the Seattle area.

Favorite teams are the Seattle Seahawks, Phoenix Suns and all Stanford teams.

Likes to do impersonations, including Smeagol from Lord of the Rings.

Favorite athlete to watch is Roger Federer.

Originally was left-handed.

Amateur Highlights

Played collegiately for four seasons at Stanford University (2009-13), where he was a 2013 Byron Nelson Award finalist, the 2013 Pac-12 Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year, and a two-time All-American, earning a first-team laurel in 2011, followed by a second-team nod in 2012.

Won the individual title at the 2012 Pac-12 Conference Championships, in addition to earning All-Pac 12 First Team honors in 2011 and 2012.

Earned Academic All-America honors in 2012 and 2013.

First of two collegiate wins came at the 2010 Dogwood Invitational in Atlanta, which included a second-round 62.

Was runner-up in the 2007 Arizona Amateur and 2007 Arizona Public Links Championship.

Played on four state championship teams in high school at Hamilton High School in Chandler, Ariz.
