Amateur Highlights
Played four seasons at UCLA (2004-08), winning the individual national title and leading the Bruins to the team national title at the 2008 NCAA Championships, marking the second team national title in program history (previous was 1988).
Notably won the individual national title at the 2008 NCAA Championships over Washington's Nick Taylor (T2), Oklahoma State's Rickie Fowler (T4), and Florida's Billy Horschel (6th).
Decorated collegiate career was highlighted by two of the three national player of the year awards -- Fred Haskins and Jack Nicklaus (Division I) Awards -- in 2008, All-America First Team recognition in 2008, All-America Second Team honors in 2007, and the 2007-08 Pac-10 Conference Golfer of the Year award.
Notched five individual wins at UCLA and posted a then-single-season scoring average school record as a senior in 2007-08 (71.029); his record was broken by Gregor Main's 71.027 in 2009-10, followed by Patrick Cantlay's 70.49 average in 2010-11.
Qualified for match play at the 2007 Western Amateur at Point O'Woods in Michigan; he fell to Rickie Fowler in the first round of match play.
Reached the Round of 16 at the 2005 U.S. Amateur Championship at Merion Golf Club; he also qualified for match play the following year at the 2006 U.S. Amateur at Hazeltine National Golf Club.
Represented the United States and won the 2004 Toyota World Junior Golf Cup in Japan alongside Patton Kizzire, Will Osborn, and Garrett Sapp.
Qualified for match play at the 2003 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship but was eliminated in the Round of 64.
