Season Recap

2024 Season

Captured his first career victory on PGA TOUR Champions, defeating Bernhard Langer in a playoff to win the Stifel Charity Classic. Yang also posted two other runner-up finishes (Kaulig Companies Championship, Simmons Bank Championship) and two third-place finishes (T3 at Trophy Hassan II and T3 at the weather-shortened Invited Celebrity Classic) in his 27 starts on the season. He ended the year ranked sixth in the Charles Schwab Cup standings.

Trophy Hassan II

Co-led through 36 holes, but an even-par 73 in the final round saw him finish the tournament T3 (7-under, 212). It marked his best finish since the 2023 Ascension Charity Classic (T3) and his sixth career top five finish on PGA TOUR Champions.

The Galleri Classic

Carded three rounds in the 60s at The Galleri Classic en route to a T6 finish.

Invited Celebrity Classic

Offset four bogeys with four birdies and an eagle, good for a 2-under 69 and T3 finish at 8-under 134 in the weathered-shortened 36-hole event.

Insperity Invitational

In the weather-shortened 36-hole competition, which saw Rounds 1 and 2 contested on Saturday, Yang was co-18-hole leader after birdies on seven of his first 10 holes Saturday morning en route to a 7-under 65. Struggled in Saturday afternoon’s second round to a 3-over 75 to finish T10 at 4-under 140 .

Kaulig Companies Championship

Carded the low round of the day on Sunday with 4-under 66 to finish runner-up at the Kaulig Companies Championship. It matched his best finish in his first 67 starts on PGA TOUR Champions.

Ascension Charity Classic

Won his first PGA TOUR Champions title in his 72nd start at 13-under 200. The 18-hole leader and 36-hole co-leader defeated Bernhard Langer with a birdie on the first playoff hole.

Simmons Bank Championship

Closed with 65, the low round on Sunday, to finish runner-up at the inaugural Simmons Bank Championship. His 15-under total was two strokes behind champion Padraig Harrington.
