Won the Principal Charity Classic by two strokes over runner-up and defending champion Stephen Ames for his fourth victory on PGA TOUR Champions. Carded scores of 62-68-65, holding at least a share of the lead after each of the first two rounds. His 195 total was his low 54-hole score on PGA TOUR Champions and the low 54-hole score in the 23-year history of the Principal Charity Classic.

Became the first player to win back-to-back events on PGA TOUR Champions in the 2024 season and the first player to do so on Champions Tour since Steve Stricker in 2023. After a second-round 64 put Els and Stricker in a tie for the 36-hole lead, both players recorded a Sunday 69, forcing a sudden death playoff between Els and the defending champion and Tournament Host Stricker. When Stricker was unable to match Els’ par on the first hole of the playoff, Els captured his second win in as many weeks and fifth career win on PGA TOUR Champions.

Carded the low score of the final round with 65 to finish T8 at the U.S. Senior Open.

Captured his first senior major title at the 2024 Kaulig Companies Championship. It was his sixth win overall on PGA TOUR Champions and third victory of the 2024 season. Carded rounds of 70-68-64-68 to defeat runner-up Y.E. Yang by one stroke.

Finished T2 at the Boeing Classic, shooting 69-69-68 to end up one stroke behind champion Stephen Ames. It was his sixth top-3 finish in his first 14 starts of the 2024 season.

Finished T10 at 10-under 200 after closing with a final round 4-under 66.

Finished T3 at the Sanford International for his seventh top-3 finish of the 2024 season. Carded scores of 70-66-67.
