With 12 PGA TOUR titles to his name, was one of the most successful African-American players on TOUR prior to the emergence of Tiger Woods. Career highlight was winning THE PLAYERS Championship in 1985. Finished the season top-five on the money list in 1982, 1983 and 1985. Was also named as the Vardon Trophy recipient and the winner of the Byron Nelson Award in 1984.
