Bryson DeChambeau commits to inaugural 3M Open

Tournament officials announced today that FedExCup No. 8 Bryson DeChambeau has officially committed to compete in the 3M Open when the world’s top golfers gather at the TPC Twin Cities July 1-7, 2019.
DeChambeau’s commitment marks another boost of excitement and energy as the event transitions from a PGA TOUR Champions tournament to the PGA TOUR schedule for the next seven years.
The 25-year-old just completed one of the best seasons on the PGA TOUR—winning four titles during the calendar year, starting with a victory at the Memorial Tournament and including back-to-back FedExCup Playoffs wins at THE NORTHERN TRUST and Dell Technologies Championship. DeChambeau finished third in the final FedExCup standings and was a member of this year’s U.S. Ryder Cup team.
“Getting a player of Bryson’s caliber to announce early his intentions of competing in the 3M Open is super exciting for all of us,” said Peter Mele, Tournament Director of the 3M Open. “He is part of the new generation of stars on the PGA TOUR and we are confident the excitement of today will continue in the next few months as more stars make their plans to attend.”
The 156 players competing in the 3M Open have until 5:00 p.m. Eastern time on Friday, June 28 to officially commit to the tournament and can withdraw at any time.
