    RankPlayerAge2017-18 earningsStatusComment
Nicholas Lindheim33593KWeb Finals.Third straight year in the reshuffle. Possesses a skill set that favors shorter courses as his average game off the tee forces the action on the rest of his game. More likely to spike than sustain.
Stephan Jaeger29422KWeb Finals.Brought aggressive reputation to the PGA TOUR as a rookie in 2017-18 but didn't connect. Managed to pick off a fourth victory on the Web in May, but shouldn't have been there in the first place.
Dominic Bozzelli27391KMajor Medical.Sat out the final five months of 2017 with a sore shoulder, so he has five starts to earn 187.205 FedExCup points. Only 75.883 points from conditional status. Deep but solid value for the what-if.
Chris Thompson42--Rookie. Web Finals.Welcome to the show! Evidence that the ball doesn't care how old you are. It's more impressive that he earned his card for regular-season play, not the Finals. Good putter and grinder.
Tom Lovelady25700KConditional.It's hard to post two top fives and fall short of the Playoffs, but both occurred in additional events. Can't hurt being JT's roommate not to mention the Alabama pedigree in his pocket.
Julián Etulain30--Web Finals. The native of Argentina finished 161st in the FedExCup as a rookie in 2016-17. Although he's back, he's been too inconsistent to endorse in the long-term. Give him a minute to reacclimate.
Joey Garber27--Rookie. Web Finals.Made quick work of his rookie year on the Web with a win among five top 20s. Falls from the University of Georgia tree, but let him come to you. Doesn't jump off the page statistically.
Martin Trainer27--Rookie. Web Finals.Two-time winner on the 2018 Web. Missed 12 of 21 cuts and recorded only other top-50 finish. Was in the same class at USC as teammates Stewart Hagestad and T.J. Vogel.
José de Jesús Rodríguez37--Rookie. Web Finals.Fourth in all-time earnings on the PGA TOUR Latinoamérica with four wins, he's a long shot to stick after a top-heavy breakout season on the Web.
D.A. Points41377KMulti-year.If not for the $264,000 T4 at Sedgefield, he'd be a salary buy. Still cheap but on the wrong side of 40. Terrific mindset for the long-term and worth a look fractionally in DFS as shark repellent.
Ernie Els48102KCareer earnings exemption (top 50).Hasn't logged a top 30 on the PGA TOUR since June of 2016. Doesn't turn 50 until October of 2019, so we'll get one more undivided season. Made only 15 starts in 2017-18.
Derek Fathauer32708KConditional.Gets by almost solely with good putting, and in five seasons with status (2009, 2015-2018), he's finished no higher than 100th in the FedExCup.
Talor Gooch26654KConditional.Given his consistent start to 2017-18, this is a disappointment, even for a rookie. Made only four of last 17 cuts. Going 3-for-4 in the Web Finals kept him warm, but playing time drops considerably.
Max Homa27--Web Finals.Caught fire late to climb the ladder. Went just 2-for-17 in his last try in 2016-17. One of the best personalities on Twitter, so he won't have a shortage of support everywhere he goes.
Tyrone Van Aswegen36763KConditional.As one of the busiest touring pros who's totaled at least 20 cuts made in each of the last three seasons, he's paid dividends in deeper formats, but his schedule will take a hit with this status.
Hank Lebioda24--Rookie. Web Finals.Last of 25 from the regular season to punch a TOUR ticket. Starts in the same spot of the reshuffle (47th) as Beau Hossler from a year ago. Unlike Hossler, Lebioda has never played in a TOUR event.
Jim Knous2824K*Rookie. Web Finals. The chip-and-a-chair guy as the last to get his card. Finished fourth on the Web.com Tour in the all-around ranking. Has made just two PGA TOUR starts.
Greg Chalmers44288KMinor Medical.Seven starts to earn 244.070 FedExCup points. Shut it down after the FedEx St. Jude Classic due to arthritis in his back that first flared after his Barracuda win in 2016. Hoping to return late in 2018.
Morgan Hoffmann29170KMajor Medical.Since muscular dystrophy diagnosis, he's launched the MH Foundation and hosted a pro-am. Also spent three months in Nepal for treatment. Has 18 starts to earn 296.570 FedExCup points.
K.J. Choi48219KMajor Medical. After committing to the FedEx St. Jude Classic, he WD early and hasn't played since. No news has surfaced to explain why. Has nine starts to earn 267.570 FedExCup points. Save him for weekly looks.
Seth Reeves27--Rookie. Web Finals. He's yet to play in a PGA TOUR event. Snuck into the Finals with a late top five, and then opened with two more; otherwise, he wouldn't have our attention. Could be a rough go.
Sepp Straka25--Rookie. Web Finals.Entered August ranked 130th in Web.com Tour earnings, and then won the KC Golf Classic, and then finished T3 at the finale. The Georgia product has never played in a PGA TOUR event.
Kenny Perry58--Career earnings exemption (top 50).Hasn't competed regularly on the PGA TOUR since 2010 and likely won't much in 2018-19, but he'll be fun to watch. Enjoying a nice season with the seniors post-shoulder surgery.
Rod Pampling49183KMulti-year.Remember when he won the Shriners in November of 2016? The narrative was that it'll bridge him to the PGA TOUR Champions for which he'll become eligible one month after the 2018-19 concludes.
Freddie Jacobson44--Major Medical (carryover).Sat out the entire PGA TOUR season, but finished T56 at the Nordea Masters (T56) in his native Sweden in August. Still has 18 starts to earn 333.130 FedExCup points.
William McGirt39933MTop 125.Had surgery for a torn labrum and a femoroacetabular impingement in his left hip on Sept. 5. Rehab is going well, but he's going to miss some serious time. Poised for a Major Medical Extension in 2019-20.
Will Claxton37--Medical (reshuffle; carryover).Ended a three-year hiatus and went 0-for-5 on the PGA TOUR. Still has seven starts to earn 385.660 FedExCup points or $655,459.
Will MacKenzie44--Medical (reshuffle; carryover).Didn't play on 2017-18 PGA TOUR, although he committed to five events over the summer and withdrew early from each. Six starts to earn 238.357 FedExCup points.
Colt Knost3343K*Major Medical (carryover).A sore left wrist truncated a second straight season. His timetable to return remains up in the air. When he's back, he'll be equipped with 13 starts to earn 349.202 FedExCup points.
John Senden4768KMajor Medical (carryover).Continued to scuffle in 2017-18. Now has just six starts to earn 285.015 FedExCup points.
Steve Marino3876KMajor Medical (carryover). After a fantastic opening on the Web.com Tour, managed only six starts on the PGA TOUR and logged only one top-65 finish. Has four starts remaining to earn 284.519 FedExCup points.
Jon Curran31--Major Medical (carryover).Failed to make a cut in all 15 starts on the PGA TOUR in 2017-18, so he has only three remaining to earn 305.414 FedExCup points.
Kris Blanks4518KMedical (reshuffle; carryover). After sitting out two years for multiple injuries, went 2-for-6 in his return to the PGA TOUR. Now has three starts to earn 340.607 FedExCup points or $559,157.
David Berganio, Jr.49--Medical (reshuffle; carryover). In what may be a tune-up for the PGA TOUR Champions (he turns 50 on Jan. 14), returned to action for the first time since 2009 and went 0-for-4. Three starts to earn $547,166.
Jonathan Randolph30453KMinor Medical.Dealt with a shoulder injury early. One start to earn 211.376 FedExCup points. Would be shocking if he didn't burn it at Sanderson Farms. Needs 100.054 points for conditional status.
Chad Collins40--Medical (reshuffle).Given 19 starts to earn 377.458 FedExCup points after not making one start. The reason has not been released. Rehabbed once on the Web.com Tour before consecutive starts in the Finals.
Graham DeLaet36251KMajor Medical.Had microdiscectomy surgery on L4-L5 vertebrae this summer. Sidelined deep into 2018-19 if not longer. Given 24 starts to earn 266.483 FedExCup points.
Bo Van Pelt43--Career earnings exemption (top 50; medical carryover). While he's teased at a return, he hasn't competed since the 2016 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am due to surgeries on a bicep and for a torn labrum in his left shoulder.
Greg Owen46--Non-exempt Medical.Has 14 starts to earn 377.458 FedExCup points. Out since the 2017 Web.com Tour Championship. News hasn't surfaced to explain why.
Tim Clark42--Career earnings exemption (top 50; medical carryover).Hasn't played since 2016 CareerBuilder. Still has 19 starts to earn 368.787 FedExCup points or $607,529. Made news as a putting whisperer for Webb Simpson.
Briny Baird46--Major Medical (carryover).Hasn't played since 2013-14. Still has nine starts to earn 72.240 FedExCup points or $96,029. He's already eclipsed the minimum needed for conditional status as a safety net.
Harrison Frazar47--Major Medical (carryover).Sat out a third consecutive season, so he continues to sit on three starts to earn 320.207 FedExCup points or $510,686.
Zack Sucher32--Medical (reshuffle; carryover).Hasn't played since the 2017 Travelers, so he still has six starts to earn 347.339 FedExCup points.
Seung-Yul Noh2744KMajor Medical.Honoring his military obligation in South Korea. When he returns, which is probably for the beginning for the 2019-20 season, he'll have 26 starts to earn 358.958 FedExCup points.
Lee Williams36--Medical (reshuffle; carryover).Officially on the books (with six starts remaining), but he's no longer active due to Scheuermann's Disease, a spinal disorder. He's embarked on a career in wealth management.
