Waialae Country Club

Defending champion Kevin Na and other top-ranked TOUR golf professionals will return to Waialae Country Club to complete for a share of the $7.5 million purse and the 2022 champion's check of 1,350,000. The tournament will be broadcast live on Golf Channel, Thursday through Sunday, January 13-16.

The longest-running PGA TOUR event in Hawaii has been played at Waialae Country Club since 1965.  Sony has sponsored the Sony Open in Hawaii continuously since 1999. In 2021, the PGA TOUR, Sony Group Corporation, and tournament host Friends of Hawaii Charities announced the extension of Sony's title sponsorship of the Sony Open in Hawaii through 2026.

The 2022 Sony Open in Hawaii looks forward to welcoming fans back to Waialae Country Club to cheer their favorite golf professionals in person.  To keep our island residents and visitors safe, the event has the following entry requirements:

  • Proof of full vaccination with a current photo ID or
  • Proof of a negative COVID-19 test result, taken within 48 hours prior to entry, with a current photo ID (Children 12 and under are exempt)
  • Masks are required whether indoors or outdoors
    except while actively eating/drinking or while competing in a “public competition”
