Marc Leishman is questionable for next week's Masters after his wife Audrey was hospitalized earlier this week and placed into an induced coma, according to the Australian Associated Press.
She thought she was battling the flu but after a visit to an urgent care center near their Virginia Beach home Tuesday night was admitted to the hospital. She has pneumonia and doctors placed her in a coma to pinpoint her illness further.
The couple has two young children, both boys, and with his wife hospitalized Leishman is considering foregoing the year's first major.
"Our family appreciates everyone's thoughts and concerns," he told the AAP. "We ask that everyone respect our privacy through this difficult period. Please keep Audrey in your prayers."
Leishman tied for fourth at the 2013 Masters for his best finish at Augusta National. He also led the tournament early in the second round last year before eventually missing the cut.
