Jordan Spieth arrived at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions with something new in his bag. But if you weren't paying attention, you likely missed the addition of SuperStroke's S-Tech club grips to his Titleist woods, irons and wedges.
The two-time major winner switched to a SuperStroke putter grip in 2013, but the winners-only event at Kapalua — a tournament he won by eight shots — marked the first time Spieth had used a bag full of SuperStroke grips.
According to SuperStroke. Spieth tested the club grips extensively during the offseason before shelving his Golf Pride Tour Velvet grips for S-Tech. In addition to using the new grips, SuperStoke confirmed Spieth signed a multi-year extension that will see him continue to use the company's club and putter grips.
"I'm excited to be using the new S-Tech club grips," Spieth said. "I've always trusted SuperStroke's putter grip technology and I'm confident the S-Tech grips will deliver the same performance."
SuperStroke's S-Tech grips are currently used by Spieth, Sergio Garica and Jason Dufner and feature a rubber compound that produces a soft, tacky feel for improved feedback and control. The Cross-Traction surface texture design gives the grip a non-slip surface in all weather conditions.
