Brandt Snedeker battled the elements at Torrey Pines to win the Farmers Insurance Open by one shot for his 8th PGA TOUR title.

For Snedeker, a new driver/ball setup has paid immediate dividends — Snedeker has two top-three finishes and a win in his first three starts of 2016 — over the first month of the year. Following a lengthy run with TaylorMade's Burner SuperFast driver, Snedeker shelved the club at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions for Bridgestone's JGR model.

Bridgestone's latest driver utilizes a Flex Action Speed Technology (F.A.S.T.) crown that allows the upper portion of the face to flex more effectively at impact, producing a spring-like effect that improves launch and ball speeds.

The driver face also features a re-designed power milled face that greatly reduces ball slippage at impact, decreasing the amount of unwanted spin on off-center shots. Compared to the previous version, the milling is spaced further apart at the top of the face to maintain spin, while the milling is tighter and rougher at the bottom to decrease spin on mishits.

In addition to the new driver, Snedeker added Bridgestone's 2016 B330 golf ball in the run-up to the winners-only event at Kapalua. The difference-maker for Snedeker was the increased ball speeds he saw with the new ball.

The increase was due in part to the TourCore in the B330 that's 27 larger than its predecessor and has a reformulated gradational slope between the softer inner core and firmer out core. Increasing the size of the core creates a more efficient energy transfer, which typically translates to faster ball speeds.

Here's a look at the rest of the equipment in Snedeker's bag.
