  • Adidas unveils custom footwear for Ryder Cup

  • (Adidas Golf)(Adidas Golf)

Adidas Golf staffers Jim Furyk, Justin Rose, Martin Kaymer, Stephen Gallacher, Sergio Garcia, as well as European Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley, will all have something in common at Gleneagles: they'll be wearing Ryder Cup-themed footwear for the biennial matches.

The limited-edition footwear collection combines design elements and color combinations for the American and European squads, and is comprised of three of adidas' most successful shoes in 2014: adizero one (worn by Garcia and Gallacher), pure 360 (worn by McGinley) and adicross gripmore (worn by Furyk, Rose and Kaymer).

“The Ryder Cup is one of the greatest sporting events in the world and we are excited to have a great representation of five staffers playing and one serving as captain,” said Masun Denison, adidas Golf's director of global footwear product marketing. “We realized this was a great opportunity for us to take our highest performing footwear models and offer unique and exciting colors that not only represent each team but truly embody what this electrifying event is all about.”

For those wondering if adidas' Ryder Cup footwear will be available at retail, the company announced that the pieces were only designed for staffers at Gleneagles. In other words, you'll have to enjoy the shoes from afar.
