Fowler hits blind shot from 140 yards

By Jonathan Wall, PGATOUR.COM Equipment Insider

FORT WORTH, Texas -- Even though he faded into the background over the weekend at the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial, Rickie Fowler was front and center at the beginning of the week when he took on a custom-built Texas-shaped green at Victory Plaza.

Fowler and Colt Knost tried to hit the green from 80 yards and 115 yards before attempting to hit a blind shot from 140-plus yards that had to fly over a six-story building or be sliced left-to-right to land softly on the green.

"I have done some crazy stuff with Red Bull, but this is by far the craziest,” Fowler said. “I got some good wedge practice in today. I won't see a harder shot in the tourney this week at Colonial."

Fowler was crowned the Red Bull Off Course champion after his sixth shot landed 30 inches from the hole.
