The field for the Charles Schwab Cup Championship is set, with 35 golfers teeing it up in Arizona at Phoenix Country Club this week in the final event of the 2024 PGA TOUR Champions season.

This year’s race for the Charles Schwab Cup is the closest in years, as 11 golfers in the field enter the week with a chance to win the season-long prize. Below is a breakdown of how each golfer could potentially win the 2024 Charles Schwab Cup.

With their points totals for the year, if any of these players win the Charles Schwab Cup Championship, they will win the Charles Schwab Cup, regardless of how any of the other golfers finish.

    • 1. Ernie Els
    • 2. Steven Alker
    • 3. Stephen Ames
    • 4. Padraig Harrington
    • 5. Y.E. Yang
    • 6. Richard Green

While there are a number of scenarios (outside of winning the event) that could see a player from this top six win the Schwab Cup, below are the two most reasonable outcomes:

    • Els (No. 1) : Has a reasonable chance to win the Schwab Cup with a second, third or fourth place finish, provided none of the top six players win the event
    • Alker (No. 2): Has a reasonable chance to win with a second or third place finish, provided Els finishes outside the top five and none of the others in the top six win the tournament.
