The 10th event of the PGA TOUR Americas season is this week’s Osprey Valley Open, played at the Heathlands Course at TPC Toronto, the same facility that hosts the RBC Canadian Open (played on the North Course).

The Osprey Valley Open was played four times on PGA TOUR Canada, with past champions Tyler McCumber (2018), Paul Barjon (2019), Danny Walker (2022) and Davis Shore (2023). The 2025 edition of this tournament was won by Auburn alum Carson Bacha, who finished No. 14 in the PGA TOUR University Class of 2025 and entered the winner’s circle in just his fourth start as a pro.

This year, Thomas Ponder (Dothan, Alabama) continues to lead the PGA TOUR Americas Points List and race for 10 Korn Ferry Tour cards, while two players returned to the top 10 after strong showings last week at the Commissionaires Ottawa Open presented by Lépine Apartments. Patrick Sheehan (Doylestown, Pennsylvania) finished T6 in Ottawa, his third top 10 of the season, and improved five spots to No. 7. Riley Lewis (Prescott, Arizona) is No. 9 on the points list after a T13 last week, and he returns to TPC Toronto after finishing T8 at last year’s Osprey Valley Open.

Player notes

Mateo Fernández de Oliveira (Buenos Aires, Argentina) tallied his first PGA TOUR Americas win last week at the Commissionaires Ottawa Open and moved to No. 13 on the points list. In 2024, he hit the first tee shot in PGA TOUR Americas history and went on to finish No. 22 on the points list, and he retained membership for this season by finishing No. 43 in 2025.
During his senior season at the University of Arkansas, Fernández de Oliveira won the 2023 Latin America Amateur Championship before finishing No. 16 in the PGA TOUR University Class of 2023 to earn PGA TOUR Canada membership.
Thomas Ponder (Dothan, Alabama) followed his victory at the Explore NB Open with a third-place finish in Ottawa, his tour-best seventh top-10 of the season, and maintained his spot atop the points list for the second straight week.
Lance Simpson (Knoxville, Tennessee) finished runner-up last week at the Commissionaires Ottawa Open and is up to No. 16 on the points list in just three starts. The rookie of out the University of Tennessee earned membership by finishing No. 11 in the PGA TOUR University Class of 2026, and he opened his career with a T27 at the Wichita Open and a T8 at the Explore NB Open.
Joey Savoie (Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec) returns to TPC Toronto after making the cut at the RBC Canadian Open (played on the North Course) in June. The 31-year-old won the KIA Open de Ecuador presentado por Diners Club in May and is currently No. 5 on the points list.
Justin Matthews (Little Britain, Ontario) will make his second TOUR-sanctioned start of the summer after tying for 29th at the RBC Canadian Open and finishing as the low amateur. A rising senior at the University of Charlotte and currently No. 89 in WAGR, Matthews trains out of The Performance Academy at TPC Toronto with Director of Instruction Braeden Cryderman.

Tournament history

The Osprey Valley Open returns to the PGA TOUR Americas schedule for its sixth edition. The tournament returns to the Heathlands Course for the fourth time, a venue that has crowned past champions such as Davis Shore (2023), Danny Walker (2022) and three-time Korn Ferry Tour winner Paul Barjon (2019).
